Founded by Ricky Watkins, a former U.S. Army Combat Engineer (12B30) with over a decade of experience in explosives, demolition, and hazardous material operations. Tier 1 Safety combines battlefield-tested risk management with industry-recognized certifications.

With more than nine years in the fire protection industry, Ricky has performed and overseen every aspect of life safety testing and inspection - from six - and twelve-year fire extinguisher maintenance, hood suppression system testing, and quarterly/semi-annual/ annual inspections of fire alarm and sprinkler systems, to 5-year standpipe and internal inspections, hydrant flow tests, and fire pump performance tests from 750 GPM to 2500 GPM. This includes inspections conducted under AHCA and Joint Commission (JCAHO) standards, ensuring compliance in critical healthcare environments. Ricky’s experience also spans hands-on testing and integration of wet, dry, pre-action, deluge, antifreeze, and special hazard systems across high-rise, data centers, industrial complexes, healthcare facilities, retail, and even marine/yacht environments.

Tier 1 Safety’s team holds NICET certifications in NFPA 25, and NFPA 72, with specialized training in NFPA 241, OSHA compliance, and hazardous waste operations. This dual foundation of combat engineering discipline and comprehensive fire protection compliance allows us to deliver practical, reliable safety solutions for construction, and government projects.
